Geologic Time

The other day we were talking to Sydney about her orthodontic work. We had just come from the orthodontist and we were talking about the plans. Two weeks prior, Ryan had gone to the orthodontist and he said he wanted to wait 18 months before we do any more work on Ryan.

Ryan was whining to Sydney about how soon he was going to have to have braces on. I said "Ryan, you have a long time.."

His reply, "Not in geologic time."

"Geologic time?"

"Yeah, you know how long it takes a rock to form? A mountain? In geologic time, 18 months isn't a long time."

Of course.
